Hot August

July and August are usually the hottest months in Korea, but when the hottest weeks are over, it's finally nice to sit in the sunshine near Han-river, go jogging or for a long walk during the afternoon. 

My workplace in Hapjeong is right next to Han-river, and after work it's easy to take a walk near the riverbanks and enjoy the sunshine. 

The river is very beautiful when it's sunny. 

This is a good place for biking and jogging. 

I prefer staying away from direct sunlight though. 

These streets are protected by big trees and national flowers. 

Hapjeong is a very pretty place especially when you look at it from this angle. Amazingly beautiful streets! 

Having some Chinese-style buffet-food! 

It's easy to walk from Hapjeong to Hongdae, and it's worth it because I can visit Gong Cha and get my favourite bubble tea (taro of course). 

Always when I have some free time I like to hang out, usually with myself because then I can concentrate of photographing (and taking selfies). I even like taking a subway to a random location, or just riding a bus somewhere and getting to know the surroundings. It's fun, it's exciting and it's very cheap kind of tourism! 

When it's hot I prefer staying inside or at least in the shadows, but when the evenings get cooler it's fun to travel and take reeeeally long walks. I'm always looking forward to my next destination and my next subway-adventure, and don't you even think I'm crazy before trying it yourself! :D 

Jeongja

Jeongja-dong (정자동) is a relatively new part of Bundang, near Seoul. It's a rich neighbourhood with lots of flourishing businesses, beautiful parks and streams and of course wealthy people with their young families. I always see a lot of kids around Jeongja, and I like the hip, modern atmosphere. 

This is one of the loveliest neighbourhoods close to Seoul. 

When you see these parks in beautiful sunlight, you might even say this is THE loveliest neighbourhood anywhere. 

There are lots of young families in Jeongja. 

This is the Tancheon stream that flows through many districts straight to mighty Han-river. 

Sunshine! It's hot but very beautiful. 

You might think this looks like spring, but this is August in Jeongja. 

It's a hot evening in August, and what would be better than... 

Ice skating! This is the ice skating rink in Lotte World. 


Well, one more amazing place introduced! I really like spending time in Jeongja, not just because of personal reasons, but because it's such a nice place, I don't feel like I'm close to a big city, but the atmosphere is so idyllic and so kind, also air feels fresh! 

Ttukseom Hangang park

Ttukseom resort (뚝섬) around Ttukseon resort station offers great views to Han-river, and a beautiful place for sunbathing, having a picnic or taking a walk. The park has many things to see, rose garden, music fountains, riverside square, nature learning center etc.

During a sunny day it's amazing to walk here, though it's too hot. 

Here you can see Lotte Jamsil Super Tower being built. It's going to be amazingly huge when it's ready.

Jogging

The title says it all. Time for some serious facepalming because my imagination has apparently died. 

Anyway look at the beauty of Suyu, just look at it. It's too hot to go jogging during the days so when the evening comes, the timing feels just perfect... 

This riverside (okay, stream) near my home is the best place for an evening jog. 

Many people come here to exercise everyday. 

You can cross the stream like this :) 

After the rain everything is fresh. 

The air is very pleasant. 

Of course I have to stop and take pictures of everything, that's why my exercising is less jogging and more standing still this evening.

This road though, never going back there again... I saw such huge spiders that they could've eaten me. But luckily I survived to tell about it. 

Just life

When the name of the post is "just life", it's only convenient to start it with some thoughts about food. 

Guys, something great happened! During summer 2014 I found a my new favourite ice cream! Macaron ice cream is quite a big trend in Korea these days. 

 If you have tasted Blueberry Macaron you know how heaven tastes like! It's like eating frozen tears of happiness straight from heaven. 

Now that I think about it all of my favourite desserts are purple. Coincidence? Yeah, I didn't think so. 

Then moving on to not that delicious things, first of all going to work. I liked it though, it's seriously quite fun to be at work when you like your coworkers and what you do. 

On a sunny day everything is nice, especially hanging some sheets outside to dry. 

Bored while visiting the hairdresser. This is not my natural habitat though, usually I stay away from this kind of places, but well, nobody touched MY hair so I'm fine. Before moving to Busan I had visited the hairdresser when I was maybe 14. 

The hairdressers in Korea are quite cheap compared to Finland, but I still prefer cutting and dyeing my hair by myself. I'm fine with just watching other people lose their hair, I don't wanna see my own hair on the floor, thank you very much... 

While visiting a market I notice some hyvä hyvä... Suomi mainittu, torilla tavataan! 

Finland is everywhere.
