Cherry Blossom Festival

About the festival

Jinhae Gunhangje Festival is the largest cherry blossom festival and it draws millions of visitors every year. It is usually celebrated during the last days of March and first days of April.

The festival was held for the first time in 1952, and at first it was a small ceremony to honour admiral Yi Sun Shin, a Korean naval hero. Nowadays the festival has about 2 million visitors annually.

The Yeojwacheon Stream and the Gyeonghwa railway station in Jinhae are among the 50 most beautiful places in South-Korea. During the spring those places are popular because of the endless sea of cherry blossoms surrounding those areas.

This is the best place to enjoy cherry blossoms.
