Youngdusan park and Busan tower

Beautiful scenery over the whole downtown? How is that possible?

Busan tower in Youngdusan park is one of the biggest landmarks in Busan, and a must-visit place for tourists. The park is beautiful and full of Korean history, and you can also find souvenir shop that sells Korean handicrafts, so you can really see and feel the old traditions. Many times I have also seen traditional bands playing and dancing at the square in front in front of the tower.

Busan tower stands proudly 69 meters above sea level, the tower itself is about 120 meters tall, and it was built in 1973. The top of the tower is inspired by a part of a famous Bulguksa temple in Gyeongju.

Busan tower is a good attraction for the citizens as well as tourists. I personally visited it many times, and every single time learned something new or saw a different side of the park or met new interesting people. It's also a good place for dating, and many couples like to take a walk in the park, sit on the lover's bench and take beautiful pictures together.

One of the best things is the cheap price. It's only 4,000won per one adult for the tower, and 2,500 to see the art exhibitions (museum) situated inside the tower. If you buy both tickets at the same time it's only 5,000won. The museum is not open on Mondays though (if you go somewhere on Monday, prepare for some places being closed, that is a normal day for keeping some shops and offices closed).

Youngdusan mountain is situated in downtown of Busan, and it's one of the three well-known mountains of the city. It's former name was Songhyunsan (view of the sea through a forest), but later the name changed to Youngdusan (dragon head mountain). Some people believe that the mountain has magical powers to defeat enemies coming over the sea.

My theory is that when the mountain burned (that happened two times), people looked at it from the distance and saw that the mountain top is shaped like dragon's head. Then they built a tower there, because as we know, dragons are quite appreciated in Asia.

Efforts to plant new life on top of the mountain have made it beautiful and loved.

When I visited Youngdusan park and Busan tower for the first time, I had a Korean guide to tell me about the place.

Sadly, I always seem to know more than my guides :D

Youngdusan park many interesting details, and lots of old traditions and arts!

Buddha statue and tradiotional Korean decorations.

As we see here, Youngdusan park is perfect for couples and dating! And everywhere opens a new beautiful scenery, there is lots of things to see and experience, and you don't need to pay a lot to spend a perfect evening.

The statue of General Lee Sunsin. He was a great commander during the time of Joseon dynasty (1392-1910).

On the background, Busan tower itself.

The scenery from the tower towards mountains and the dowtown.

The scenery from the tower towards the sea and the port.

The downtown of Busan in all its glory.

You can see that my first visit to Busan tower was a success due to the amazing sunset and good night view over the city. I have so many beautiful pictures of the place, because I have visited it so many times... Just wait for it!

If and when you want to visit the place, the address is:
