Weekend in Changwon

My first trip to Changwon officially happened in the beginning of April, when I visited the cherry blossom festival, but this was the first time when I really had a chance to see something more than cherries.

It was just before the most beautiful time of the spring, everything was starting to be green enough to look like summer, the air was getting warmer and the people started spending more time outside.

In Korea, people always spend time outside. Even when it's winter, they want to take a walk at the beach, play games, or just sit somewhere and enjoy the fresh air. Me too! I love that. I love spending time outside, during the winter too, if you can even call Korean winter "a real winter".

Anyways, this is the beautiful city of Changwon!

Changwon is the capital of Gyeongsangnam-do, and it's the 8th most popular city in South-Korea with population of 1,089,000 (about).

Yes, to a Finnish person for example, it's a really big city, but it still has that countryside-feeling.

It's great to be outside during the last cherry blossoms, waiting for the summer to come. Changwon has many great parks and areas where people can peacefully walk around and relax, or go camping during a hot summer-afternoon.

The beautiful little lakes, flowers good weather draw people from the whole city to enjoy a sunny day in this park.

Changwon has lots of art exhibitions and many more things to see. We went to see this exhibition which turned out to be pretty interesting. And of course it was pretty cheap also, much cheaper than it would be in Finland.

When the sun sets, the air starts to get a little bit colder. I remember that my hands were freezing while holding the camera sometimes, but I don't mean that there was any minus degrees, just a normal chilly night in April.

After the sunset we walked around the city and spend some more time at the park. We also went to see a water-light-show which showed us some amazing tricks. That's what I call art!

I love visiting Changwon because it's somehow totally different from Busan. The life is different, people are different, views are different, but it's still so close and so easy to get to.

My impression of Changwon is just getting better and better.
